Micromagnetic Investigation of Thickness-Dependent Skyrmion Evolution and Pinning in Fe3GeTe2
Abstract
Micromagnetic simulations of Fe3GeTe2 with thickness steps reproduce LTEM observations and show that thicker regions stabilize dense skyrmion lattices that evolve into faceted patch domains. Energy density maps identify a strong demagnetization-field gradient at step edges that pins domains and shapes reversal pathways.
